Junior Academy

Wimborne Wayfarers Junior Academy

The Junior Section of Wimborne Wayfarers Hockey Club wants each one of its members and his or her family to:

This means that training, matches and social events should be fun for all.

To improve and to play at as high a level and in as good a team as possible.

We want everyone to achieve success in his or her own terms. Not everyone can play for Country, Division. County or Club 1st XI. but all can achieve goals which are at one stage felt to be unreachable.

Members are expected to provide their own hockey sticks although there will be a limited number available if this is not possible. Any of the coaches can advise on suitable equipment. Shoes must be either trainers or astroturf boots. All juniors must have shin pads which must be worn for all training and matches. We would also recommend the purchase and use of Gum Shields.

Matches and Tournaments:
All junior fixtures also take place on Sundays – either morning or early afternoon. Parents are expected to arrange transport for their children to and from matches.

Match details are on the fixtures page linked from the academy home page on our website.

Child Protection:
We have an appointed Welfare Officer and all our coaches and assistants are required to undertake the necessary DBS checks.

..what are you waiting for? Grab your kit and come along. Bring your friends or come and make some new ones.
